Fred Johnson, CA
Toronto born, Fred and his family moved just north of Bolton when he was in high school. He finished high school in Brampton and continued his education when he entered the Chartered Accountant program through correspondence with Queens University. During this time, he worked with the Chartered Accountant firm of McGillvrey. He graduated in the fall of 1968 and married his wife, Brenda, in April 1969 during his only year out of public practice. During that time, he worked at Peel Memorial Hospital in Brampton as Controller of Finance. During the summer of
1969, he was approached by Howard Vickery, CA to come and join his firm. Fred accepted the position and worked for Howard for several years. While working at Howard’s office, Howard also hired a young Bill Theeuwen. Bill worked closely with Fred, hence the Fred/Bill association began. The rest, as they say, is history!
Fred’s compassionate and considerate nature are loved and respected by all of his staff. On many occasions, staff have been encouraged to ‘”take the time it takes” - whatever the reason. One of Fred’s top priorities is his desire to see his employees happy.
Fred was involved with the Brampton/Caledon Community Living Association for approximately 26 years (1965—1991) as a board member and the accounting was done by both himself and Brenda. Fred has also been involved with the Orangeville & District Chamber of Commerce for a number of years .
Fred and his wife, Brenda, have three children—Paul , who is married to Tamara with a daughter, Brianne; David and common law spouse Allison who live in Ottawa; and Louise, husband Mike and four children Drew, Ryan, Justin and Mikayla who live in Orangeville. Fred and Brenda moved from Brampton to their current home just outside Caledon Village in 1973.
